Catherine utilises evidence based practice and therapies to get the best outcome for the client. She is holistic in her approach and believes context is important in guiding therapy. Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) underpins the majority of her work with most clients. She endeavours to understand a clients history from developmental and attachment perspectives where appropriate to enhance the CBT work. She also utilises somatic (body) approaches where appropriate. This work involves utilising the body rather than the mind alone to access and process emotions. She works at the level the client is comfortable with in helping them moving forward. Her specific approach varies somewhat as is dependent on client needs, problem area and individual factors.
